Job Description:
Job title: Farm Assistant / Herd Manager Submit CV
Responsible for:To aid management in the daily running of the dairy platform (Farm) and runoff as required
Responsible to: The Farm Manager

LOCATION: New Zealand

The Farm

• 950 cows with a 44 bale rotary shed
• The farm is a considered an all grass type system with some barley fed during milking
• Training will be given as required with the most important factor being that the successful candidate is keen to learn and be very self motivated
• Married or single status (Single status preferred)
• Accommodation provided
• Competitive salary package

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  

• Assist with herd management / animal husbandry
• Milking
• Animal health
• Pasture management
• Feeding
• Spraying
• Maintenance
• General farm duties

Preferred QUALIFICATIONS:  

• Degree or Diploma in Farming
• 5 years relevant experience
• Excellent organisational and Management skills
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Confident self starter able to work on own or as part of a team
• Fluent in English
